Oh Father God, oh heavenly Father,
I feel Your calling, Your wooing,
the cries of the Spirit to me…
I am crushed, I am broken,
yet I have let down the stones
the weights I have carried,
I breathe confession,
I pray repentance,
I don’t want these burdens
these chains anymore…
Touch my thick scar tissue,
Your hands drenched in Christ’s blood,
Do not stop the work You have started,
I feel Your hands; I need Your love…
Forgive me for running, listening to Satan,
believing His lies You were far off
that You did not protect me in my pain,
in my journey, my struggles,
that You left me alone
because I was not worthy of love…
Oh Father, oh heavenly Potter,
Gather up my pieces, my shards,
With their hard, jagged edges,
Touch my thick scar tissue,
My pain, my ancient secrets,
I open them all to Your touch…
Mold me, heal me, shape me
Make my clay supple again to You…
Push the imperfections from my body,
grit, bubbles, chips hidden within…
Touch my thick scar tissue,
Oh Lord, oh Spirit, I call to You…
I may be broken, I may be hurting,
but I trust in Your endless love…
Come now, oh Potter, touch me,
Continue the work You have started in me…
Give me power, voice for Your children,
Help me share the joy growing within me
as I feel Your touch, Your hands releasing,
softening my scar tissue that I may live…
