before I turned

before You found me

on the road back home

pain to so many

the older child the Prodigal

the son you loved

gifted with so much

pissing away the talents

so much blood

so much pain

open, raw

wounds remaining

under the scabs,

perhaps,

false scar tissue

what is remaining

from the time before

before You found me

on the road back home
