The Insurrection never stopped

Its toxic roots were deeply planted -

the Big Lie continues;

Life as we have known it is no more

a battle for our country rages.

Democracy itself is in peril, already shaken,

lives are hanging in the balance

An enemy within, without

fed by lies, pernicious propaganda.

 

The Insurrection continues;

sedition never stopped truly.

Obstruction of justice,

white supremacy, division,

Sons of the Confederacy

RICO statutes, conspiracy

the fall of Democracy all in play.

January 6^th was no aberration;

It is part of a detailed battle plan.

 

The Insurrection started

in Nixon’s Southern Strategy, earlier.

The Insurrection never ended;

We are facing terror, open warfare,

the threat to democracy is real

a live present danger, festering,

metastasized, a grave condition,

fed by gerrymandered districts,

politicians choosing their voters.

 

The Insurrection never stopped,

the battle for our country rages;

We cannot be complacent, naive,

believing that all will be right

that comity will be restored

without war, strong action;

Now is the time, the moment,

to stand in the breach, to fight,

for democracy, Martin’s dream,

for the dream of America itself.
