We must fight for this country

We must fight for this country,

for it is being taken from us

not by minorities, by immigrants

but by the extremists, fed the lies,

the Big Lie, to hate, to fear those different

different from ourselves, the foreigner,

the stranger, the colored, the natives,

anyone standing in the way,

crushed under foot.

We must fight for this country,

for it is being taken from us

we must fight against all enemies,

whether foreign or domestic,

against the entrenched self-interest,

those who deny, who reject,

the dream, the idea of America

woven in our creed, the prayer of this nation,

one land, one people, yearning to be free.

We must not despair, we must not be despondent

The stakes are too high, too important,

we must not despair, we must not be despondent,

over the state of our politics, this nation, this moment in time.

For we are so much stronger, more just,

than our enemies imagine, even those within our midst,

underestimate our resolve, our conviction, our mettle in strife.

We will not be vanquished, the dream of America will triumph,

though we may be on a journey, the arc of history bends,

toward justice, equality, a more perfect union.

We can have hope - 2

America is strong, resilient,

the dream of our nation still binds us;

but the threats are real, the attack,

the insurrection continues, the terrorists,

the traitors are working overtime.

We can have hope, we can have faith,

that justice shall prevail, be vindicated;

but we all must be on guard, prepared,

standing on the ramparts, in the gates,

defending our nation, our country,

our democracy from the enemies within..

The threat is real – v2

The threat is real, the danger continues;

They believe the lies of their deceitful leaders.

The threat is real, it grows ever deeper;

The truth becomes a lie in their minds, unbelieving.

The threat is real, the big lie is repeated;

We are still at risk, the divide widens.

Our nation is under attack, the divisions cemented;

So little time remains, the clock is ticking;

We must reclaim what has been loss, the unity missing.

We are under #attack

January was nothing, a test, a trial balloon,

the coup d’etat was just the icing, the tease,

the deflection, the distraction, a faux junta,

the boys, the percenters, the anarchists, militias,

capturing attention, the headlines, distracting us

from the true insurrection, the revolution,

the fight over many generations, the true Big Lie,

the war already raging, democracy, the dream,

of Martin, of the founders, of our people

hanging by a thread, the sword already falling

Damocles, oh our Captain, where are our leaders,

who will stand in the breach, on the ramparts,

while the fire rages, while the coup, the sedition,

the traitors abounding, on the march,

usurping, seizing control, the minority,

the rules, the process, all denying the rights,

the hopes of this people, this nation on the brink.

Repeating the Big Lie – v2

Numbing all of us, in the cloud of confusion,

Repeating the Big Lie, the false claims,

Propaganda, disinformation, in real time.

A Harold Hill, a huckster, a snake oil salesman,

Relying on charisma, gallons of Kool Aid,

Gullibility of the rubes, of the masses.

The guard rails removed, discarded,

Silencing elder statesmen, shackled,

Bound and gagged, an Enemies’ List.

Repeating the Big Lie, the election stolen,

Counting on the army, the militias,

Usurping power, position, at all cost.

A riot, an insurrection, terrorists,

Attacking the Capitol, democracy,

Ready to commit treason against America.

The threat is real

The threat is real,

the danger continues;

They believe the lies

of their deceitful leaders.

The threat is real,

it grows deeper;

The truth becomes a lie

in their minds, unbelieving.

The threat is real,

the big lie repeated;

We are still at risk

the divide widens.
