In ashes, in sackcloth – v2

I am laid low, prostrate,
laying in ashes, in sackcloth,
aware of my sin, my shame,
I am in despair, aching,
I need Your love, oh God
preserve my life, oh Father,
according to Your word…
 
Come close to me, Lord,
walk beside me, I pray,
for I am hurting, I am broken,
I long to feel You with me,
I long sense Your presence,
beside me as close as breath,
to know You answer my prayers…
