I need to journey deeper
within my memory, my psyche,
the hidden cabinets opened
a way through the mazes
peeling back the layers,
walking back in time
remembering more
what I have forgotten
ancient truths buried
deep within my soul
hidden from myself…
The origin story of my pain
the hurts, the sins against me,
sources of my fear, my anger,
the torment I have endured
lingering below the surface
is buried deep within me
way back in childhood,
though I am older,
roots run so deep,
needing to be dug out,
for them to be healed…
