living goblets - v4

I had never stopped like this time
pausing to see the beauty
wonder of raspberries
before tasting the first one
 
thrown in the package
red living goblets
of juice, of nectar
some overturned, on their side
 
dark liquid joy
no base, no stemware
red living goblets
filled with life, offering love
 
soft, swollen raspberry cuplets
some overripe, fragile,
crushed by my fingers
no matter how gentle my touch
 
picked from the package
ever so gently
raised to my lips
cups of longing, of juice
 
red raspberries giving
supple living goblets
offering themselves, joyfully,
to my hungry open mouth
