the raptors, their carrion

raptors floating on the thermals
wings outstretched like fingers
looking for movement, motion,
To dive in for the kill.
 
more often the raptors, their carrion,
opportunists in, beside, the roadways,
but sometimes leaving a carcass,
A meal for another day.
