softening #scar tissue – v2 #poetry #God #confess #repent #forgive

in the process of healing, again,
repeating the process, deeper,
opening the wounds once more
softening scar tissue,
the thickness in my spirit
the weight of the mass within,
like pearls around grains of sand,
cut open to expose
the deep hurt within…
 
tweezing each grain,
tiny wounds long buried
under the weight of the scar tissue
avoidance, the denial,
of its power upon me
thickness in my movement
the fetters I have too long carried,
wanting to be healed, to be free
for the very first time…
