Your Grace wakes with the morning – v3

You are with me as I arise,
from my slumber into the new day;
Your Grace wakes with the morning
a promise unending, eternal,
as You are, Almighty God.

Great is Your Faithfulness,
Your Presence, Your Promise,
Your Love, Your Grace surrounding me;
Mercy stalks me in my waking,

I am ready to face the new day.

Even when I am blind

Help me Lord to trust, to have faith,
even when I am blind, unsure,
when I don't see Your path;
Help me to surrender, to be faithful,
to submit to Your will, Your way,
Help me, I beseech Thee,
Guide me today.

Within the arms of the cedars – v2

Within this place set apart, isolated,
A place set apart, a living prayer closet,
a carpeted room, a space enclosed,
within the embrace, the arms of the cedars,
where I enter into prayer, into worship.

A hedge of protection, hidden,
A circle of sorts, a cathedral,
a natural enclosure, alive,
where I can pray, meditate,
where I can commune with God.

My leadership philosophy. In draft.

My leadership philosophy, at least in part:

1. What do you believe about leadersip?

I see my role as more of a player/coach, not merely a boss. I want them to know I will not ask them to do something I am unwilling to do.

2. What are your intentions while leading?

I try to show my staff what I want by demonstrating, working with my team.

3. What cab others expect from you while you're leading?

I will give 100% effort, bring a problem solving attitude, seek commitment, all oars in the water, rowing in the same direction.

Into the #cathedral of the #trees – v4

Are there any boundaries – v2

We hear the ancient name, we ask,
“Are there any boundaries?”,
invoking that scripture,
the same from the other quarter
war without limits, no rules,
comprehending genocide.

Who is the enemy, the terror,
are there innocents in these lands,
in the maelstrom, the field of battle,
in this moment, choosing this language,
the crucible of war, of scripture;
Is there a line to never cross?

Words that shouldn’t be uttered,
but maybe that was important,
speaking aloud the quiet part
the ancient battle lines, failures,
justifying anything, any measure,
in these times of total war.
