Nothing sugar-coated,
Speaking a righteous truth
The enormity of his sin,
“You are the man!”
 
A curse, a judgment,
On his king, his master,
Speaking the sentence of God,
“You are the man!”
 
Anger that had been kindled
In David’s heart
Directed at himself,
“You are the man!”
 
His secret exposed,
His rebellion against God,

Resistance, staring at challenges…

Courage in one door closing,

A turn of the calendar’s pages…

Resolve in the face of terror, evil,

Determination, disregarding betrayal,

Unified at all costs, rising as one…

A people, a nation together,

Despite everything, standing,

Knowing what they have faced,

Standing resilient because they must…

Clear-eyed about terror, this genocide…

Despite everything standing strong,

Determined to persevere, to achieve…

Hope in the struggle, the maelstrom,

Never backing down, defiant, resourceful…

Life continues always, together,

Standing, kneeling as one people,

United within their territory, their nation,

Until victory is won for their people…

Until a just peace rises like the sun...

“There will be no results, only conclusions: the struggle continues.”
I replied: “Another year ending but different than last December 31. This year ending was like 1942/1943 in the United States, where military production and attacks on Japanese positions began after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The parallels aren't perfect, but Ukraine is now producing more of its own weapons and taking the fight to Russia. 2026 will be decisive for Ukraine’s victory.”

storing up treasure in heaven

breathe into me, Lord, God,
speak into my mind, my spirit,
in answer to whispered prayers…
show me the pearls, the glass shards,
grains of sand under scar tissues
into my mind, my consciousness,
ancient memories entwined,
rising, ascendant, shining,
real-time healing, building together,
answering the questions, “Why?”,
that were never spoken, hidden,
deep healing possible, real,
When I will listen to You…
 
scar tissue exposed, under the layers,
Beauty and darkness melded,
peeling the onion to its depths,
to find the lessons, the questions,
answers so deeply hidden,
what I have carried, heavy,
for all these many years,
my boundaries, my fissures,
cracks in identity, autonomy,
who I believe I am, the stones
I carry, heavy, unwanted,
that spills out as anger,
My need to be right…

A different year ended,
unlike a year ago, holding…
Changes on the battlefield,
their war footing as a nation…
The tide is changing, rising,
their own munitions production,
targeting oil infrastructure, power,
strikes the enemy cannot stop…
 
No longer defensive,
caught waiting, flat-footed,
with timid allies, frozen,
compromised by oil and gas…
Building their own security
their own native power…
Taking the fight to the enemy,
more than Russia can stop…
 
Momentum is changing in battle
redefining a war of attrition,
drones and intelligence,
matched by their boldness…
Deep strikes in their rear…
A rising tide of judgment
against their war crimes…
Timid allies galvanized
around Ukraine’s will to live…

This year ending was like 1942/1943 in the United States, where military production and attacks on Japanese positions began after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The parallels aren't perfect, but Ukraine is now producing more of its own weapons and taking the fight to Russia. 2026 will be decisive for Ukraine’s victory.” And “

Autonomy, identity,
Intrinsic worth, value,
Rich gifts from God…
 
Constantly angry,
Insecure, attacked,
Unmoored from identity,
The love of God…
 
Bitterly lashing out,
Demanding submission,
Wanting approval, protection,
From my Father, God…
 
Anger defining, clouding,
All of my feelings, my actions,
Become a tyrant, a bully,
Under legalistic words…
 
A mirror too precise,
Crumbling self-image,
Remorse demanding,
A deep change within…
 
Asking for prayer,
His hands upon me,
Unsure of this journey,

What do I fear,
Why do I doubt,
to confess, to repent, to turn,
to surrender to God…
 
I hear God’s whisper,
The Spirit’s voice,
“Trust Me, my Son,
How I love you so…”
 
Listening to my demons,
to my childish fears,
When I doubt You Love,
When I do not believe…
 
The same child within me,
Who was broken and hurt,
Reluctantly clinging
to sorrow, to bittersweet,
the ruts of my life…
 
Come beside me, oh God,
Reach down to save me,
I am struggling, I am drowning,
I am losing my life…
 
I hear Your whisper,
“Trust Me, my Son”,
How I long to answer,
“Here I am, oh Lord…”

I have doubted Your Goodness
I have questioned Your Love
Your Mercy, Your Kindness,
Who You are, Lord…
 
I have given in to Satan
I have fallen into Sin
Like Adam in the Garden
I have rebelled against You…
 
I did not feel Your Protection
I turned to myself,
Forsaking Your Promise
Forsaking Joy, my Happiness…
 
I am turning, returning,
I am striving for Home,
To feel You with me
To follow my Path…
 
I pray You will meet me
I pray You will run, Father,
That You would redeem me,
That You would welcome me Home…

a quick fix, a moment of healing,
a cortisone shot to numb the pain
chaos, lives spinning out of control
needing recission, surgery,
a restructuring within, completely,
to achieve purpose, to experience healing
to have our hearts restored…
 
grief far deeper, needing action
giving up our lives, our wills,
reversing direction, turning
from ourselves, our flesh
to the calling of God, our Father,
running out to meet us,
to welcome us home…
 
only in grieving deeply
for our rebellion, our shame,
our turning away from ourselves
can we receive redemption
within our hearts, our spirits,
The sacrifice of Christ
that redeems our souls…

I long to live in freedom
to change direction
to put God first,
into His rightful place…
 
I have listened to pain
I have self-medicated
putting my control, autonomy
where God belonged…
 
I have made a mess
of my life, my purpose
I have strayed from God’s path
from my calling, my joy…
 
I cannot change
Without God’s assistance
How I long for Freedom
only He can give…

stuck in my ruts,
in my fear, my rebellion
taking the place of God
refusing to surrender,
to climb up out of the ruts
to repent, to change direction
to confess my failures
my need for a Savior…
 
stuck in my flesh
my sin, my rebellion
claiming the illusion of control
when that is the Devil
being drawn to destruction
needing to confess, to repent,
to surrender my autonomy
to make God my God
again, once more…

the arc of our chaos
our struggles within
creating false gods, idols,
falling into patterns of sin…
 
our lives become complacent,
complicit in our deaths,
Every single sin is fatal
kindling the wrath of God…
 
to be healed,
to find wholeness,
redemption from our brokenness
We must repent, we must turn,
We must give our lives, our wills to God…

an ache deep within me
staring at my pain
my sin, my brokenness,
wandering in the wilderness,
lost, far from God…
 
quarrying deep within me
the depth of my hurt
the way sin has hurt me
how I have sinned in my flesh,
how I have got in the way…
 
confessing my estrangement
my turning from God
creating of me an idol
worshiping my wants
not letting God get in the way…
 
now, the battle turns,
on the essential,
“Will I turn from the flesh,
Will I turn my life, my will,
My all unto God…”
