Controlled by the snake,
an amygdala hijack,
snake brains rising, reacting,
an instinctive response, primitive,
not rational thought,
a reasoned course of action…
 
Picking up a battle ax,
not looking for danger, rushing,
headlong into the storm,
even when it is imaginary,
a fiction of the Devil,
even when the battle is won…
 
Seeing injustice, harm,
reputational harms, injury,
attacks of the bullies, anger
failing to see nuance,
another hill to die on
another storm to fight…
