reflexively acting, headlong,
flying off the handle,
flying into each storm
unproductive, exhausted
at my wits’ end,
not trusting, not waiting,
not at peace within God,
His assurance, His protection
His hand in each storm,
believing I am in charge
that I am in control…
 
a visceral reaction, instinct,
tension in my spirit
of fight or flight
jumping in without a plan
believing I must fix it
not trusting, not believing
in the sovereignty of God
angry at each injustice
controlled by emotion
no faith, not trusting
in the goodness of God…
